Margery Williams Bianco (188-1944) was an English-American author, primarily of popular children's books. A professional writer since the age of nineteen, she achieved lasting fame at forty-one with the 1922 publication of the classic that is her best-known work, The Velveteen Rabbit (1922).

Ruth Martin has been an editor and author of children's books for many years. She lives in South London with her husband and daughter.

Sophie Allsopp has been illustrating children's books for twenty years. Previous titles for Templar are The Ballerina's Handbook and The Steadfast Tin Soldier.
